Their trauma is so deep yet their dreams to stay or move outside Poland especially to Great Britain are big. It means once they feel safe, they want to move up; like all of us do, without really thinking the surroundings sometimes.
The main reason why the refugees chose Poland was simply because of vicinity; rational behaviour, like all of us actually do, but with our own pace and level including the very basic language requirements.
Interestingly, in Europe languages are essential not only as symbolic capital (Bourdieu, 1986) but also as daily need, pride, acceptance, and fleur democracy indicator (Meyer Resende, and Hennig, 2021; Pędziwiatr, Brzozowski, and Nahorniuk, 2022; Bermingham, 2021; Mazur, 2023).
Barrat Esteve (2021) studied COVID-19 handling experiences in Spain as the example where the citizens were asked to wear masks while the policy makers themselves did not wear any; also, did not consider whether their populations have money to buy masks every certain period routinely or not. Paradoxically enough, though conflicts concerning language use from Galicia to Andalusia, Basque to Madrid like mentioned by immigrants from Cape Verde (Bermingham, 2021), Spain tends to respect the languages by even inviting teachers from outside the countries, giving them jobs to survive, plus lovely mountainous and beach views to enjoy when they’re tired like showed by Khay (2021) from the Philippines in Galicia on her YouTube.
As simple as that; if your country still has inequalities and polarisation inside, it means there’s a corruption within. How do you know? Have dinner somewhere fancy tonight, and tomorrow morning walk through the villages at the back side of the hotels and restaurants. Thus if you do not stop whatever you are doing, I do really pray you are going to be very poor soon very much soon, at least, dear oligarchs et al.
